RECIPES : Banana Pancake

The best thing about this recipe is that you don't even need to head to special baking stores to get the ingredients! Some of you guys probably won't even need to specially buy then because they're like super common foods many of us have at home! Besides there's only 2 compulsory ingredients, and like 5 minutes of your prep + cooking time! Yes you don't need to wake up half an hour earlier to whip your healthy and yummy breakfast anymore! I found this recipe online and decided to try it. But I found an alternative method to cook it instead of what they suggested (to use a frying pan). So I'd like to share it with you guys I guess!

Ingredients you'd need :
- 2 5-inch Bananas
- 2 eggs

Optional ingredients :
- Cinnamon powder (for taste and a darker brown colour)
- Baking powder (about 1/4 teaspoon for fluff)
- Flour (any, just a little to harden them or it'll be really really hard to flip)

Preparing the batter :

1. Slice bananas and crack eggs into a bowl / the blending cup. Add optional ingredients as well if you want.

TIP : If you plan to use a frying pan you may want to add some flour so it won't be too hard to flip the pancake...

2. Blend the mixture with a blender or mix (using a beater) until the batter is totally liquid.

Method of cooking : There are two methods to cook your pancake! One would be using a frying pan, another would be placing it in an oven toaster. I tried both, but I guess being someone who totally sucks at flipping pancakes and using the frying pan, I like to use the oven toaster. The only disadvantage of using the oven toaster is that you may need to eat your pancake from the aluminium foil (unless you use a non stick spray or baking paper, I think you may not need to. Not very sure though!). But the good thing is that you wont need to worry if your pancake is burnt because the surface turns brown before the base does, unlike when using a frying pan (and that's why I kinda burnt my pancakes a little when I tried using the frying pan.)

Method 1 : Frying Pan Method

Coat your pan with a thin layer of anti-stick spray or oil. Then simply pour the batter into your frying pan. Don't forget to flip the pancake after about 1 and a half minute (I mean you can always flip back after that if you think it's not cooked long enough, but you can't uncook a burnt pancake!)

Method 2 : Oven Toaster Method

If you have a mold that would be good. If not you can make you own "mold" like what I did, using aluminium foil. I bent my aluminium foil into a container (of any shape will do, as long as the borders are tall enough so that the batter won't spill and make sure that there are no holes especially at the corners if you're bending edged. You don't want your batter to mess your whole oven!). If you have a non-stick spray, spray the indside of the container with it first. Then simply pour the batter into the container you made (not too full though!!) and bake it at about 300 degrees Celsius for about 2 minutes or until it turns brown (few shades darker than the batter's original colour) on the surface. If upon poking your fork into the pancake, you find that the pancake is too moist, cook it in a lower temperature for a while more.

My end result isn't that pretty but I guess it's the taste that matters right! I LOVED this i swear! It was heaven man, I mean look at all the other people who tried / recommended this recipe too :

I don't know who to give credits to for this recipe because the same recipe is like everywhere on the net... So yeah, but disclaimer : I did NOT make this recipe! Simply found an alternative way to cook it using an oven toaster!

Hope you like it if you are planning to try it out ;) They are superb! And until next time, here's a food porn i found online of the 2-ingredient banana pancakes! (many of the online pics look so good and I really doubt the credibility that they only used 2 ingredients, but here's one I found that has a similar texture to the one I made)
